3 Ingredient Watermelon Slushees

I think this 3 Ingredient Watermelon Slushee might be one of my most popular recipes I’ve ever made thus far in my food blogging career. But you know what? I’m not surprised one bit! It’s usually the recipes that aren’t really recipes, or the ones that literally require two things that people love the most, and I don’t blame them! This icy, healthy treat is currently on repeat in our house because it’s just too good and too easy not to make every single day. Plus, the watermelon is in-season right now, so affordable, and so DELICIOUS.

I’ll be honest, I typically like my dessert to be creamy and have chocolate in it, but during the HOT summer months in South Texas, these have been our go-to in the evenings. We sit out on the front porch after dinner, fight off the mosquitos and let the kids make a giant mess while we sip these.

One day, we’re going to add some tequila or vodka to our adult versions and just call it a night! Best thing about these is that not only are they incredibly tasty, but they pack a powerful nutritional punch. Watermelon is actually full of electrolytes and minerals, and works much like nature’s gatorade! So not only are we getting a treat, but we’re also hydrating which feels dang good.

Tips for these:

1) Make sure you freeze your watermelon chunks ahead of time. I like to freeze ours on a parchment lined baking sheet.

2) When you freeze, make sure the pieces aren’t touching, it can lead to a giant chunk of watermelon that is hard to blend.

3) You can adjust the tang by adjusting the amount of lime juice.

4) You can adjust the texture by adjusting the amount of sparkling water!

I hope you love these little 3 Ingredient Watermelon Slushees that have fast become a family summer favorite in our house!
